Yoga and Meditation with Andrea Cashman

Movement and breath bring me into my body,
stillness brings me to my soul.

“Suffering is the sandpaper of our life. It does its work of shaping us.
Suffering is part of our training program for becoming wise.”
– Ram Dass

I’ve been practicing with Andrea for several years, both in-person and via Zoom. She is a wonderful, compassionate teacher, always adapting poses to her students’ capabilities and suggesting options throughout each practice. She enhances her yoga classes with calming music and thoughtful readings to encourage mindfulness. I walk away from every class feeling refreshed and invigorated

Andrea is the reason I have continued the classes loyally for so many years. As she introduces Yoga Dance, she emphasizes it is Let YOUR Yoga Dance, encouraging each of us to fit the program to our individual needs. At first, I stayed because of her character, however, as time passes, I see that I continue as well for her knowledge of yoga and it’s healing powers and Andrea’s superpower as an instructor.

For me, it’s not about the dance steps….rather, it’s about freeing your spirit, “allowing in” something different, letting go…having fun. Our group is incredibly supportive with one other and extremely non-judgmental. I think part of the reason for that is Andrea’s influence…she helps to create that type of environment. I walk away just being Glad and Grateful.

Let Your Yoga Dance is exhilarating – you raise your arms, your heartbeats and awareness of your body as you move to the beat of different music each week. You feel connected to your fellow dancers as you share the energy of one another. The best part – you don’t have to worry about the steps! I highly recommend it.

The word that best describes exercise for me is UGH! However, “Let Your Yoga Dance” has changed my mind. Why the change?…every class is different (theme, music, moves, etc.) Thanks Andrea for all your hard work. I now look forward to moving my body.

Yoga has really allowed me to “come into my own” as I enter the 50s decade. It is a great adhesive for my trifecta of physical, mental, and spiritual alignment. I practice yoga not only on the mat and dance floor but also in my daily morning shower.
